Tips for booking your wedding accommodations
There are certain precautions you can take to make sure you get the best out of your Lake Tahoe wedding. One of the easiest is to get quality lodging with plenty to do nearby. During the peak seasons, getting around Tahoe can be a chore. You'll be glad you found something near your wedding and reception site.
- If you're wedding is bringing a lot of people into town, you certainly can have some bargaining power. This is especially true if you are booking the lodging for all your guests at once. There are services, however, that will book all the rooms at once and then charge people individually. This may cost a wee bit more than if you book them all, but it will save them money over an individually booked room.
- If you have divorced parents that don't get along, be sure to pass that information along when making lodging arrangements.
- If your guests are driving back west on a Sunday, try to arrange a late check out. Because of traffic leaving Tahoe, someone leaving South Lake Tahoe at 3 pm can usually get back to Sacramento or the Bay Area nearly as early as someone leaving at 11 am.
- If you are planning to stay all together in one facility, consider what kind of common area will be available for you all to spend time together. A facility with a large open space for BBQ's and such makes an excellent place for a day after the wedding party for those guests that are still in town. Just add tabasco sauce.
