Glen Alpine Falls-------------------> back to Public Ceremony Sites

Nestled above beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake is Glen Alpine Falls. There are actually two waterfalls, the lower and upper. Here, we discuss Lower Glen Alpine falls. The falls are just off the road and provide an inspiring backdrop for your ceremony. Their springtime roar diminishes to a quiet stream by mid September in a typical year. The road may be impassable until late May in some years as well, so plan accordingly. To contact the Forest Service, call (530) 543-2600.

Stunning beauty for your special day

Directions from Stateline: Take Highway 50 (Lake Tahoe Blvd.) west to the 'Y' and turn right on to Highway 89. After you pass the Camp Richardson stables look for Fallen Leaf Lake road on your left, across from the Kiva Beach sign. Follow Fallen Leaf Lake Road all the way to the back of the lake and turn left onto road 1216 immediately after passing the fire station. The creek will be on your right. The falls are on the right at the top of the first uphill. You can't miss them.
Note: Fallen Leaf Lake Road is a narrow, windy, and sometimes bumpy road. It is also extremely beautiful. Keep your eyes on the road!
